Initial Dental Examination

This includes a thorough dental assessment of the teeth, gums, lips, soft tissues of the mouth and an orthodontic screen. This appointment also includes a brief airway and myofunctional screen. You will be advised if there are any concerns and a full myofunctional evaluation may be recommended. Oral hygiene instruction and dietary counselling will also be discussed at this appointment.

Clean

This includes the removal of plaque and/or tartar and a polish.

This can be completed at the same time as an examination.

30 min starting from $65

Remineralisation

This includes the application of a remineralising agent to the teeth. This will not be applied in all cases and we save this treatment for patients at a higher risk of developing tooth decay. Your therapist will advise whether this is recommended for you or not and will discuss the various options available. If so, this will be done after a clean at the same visit.

$25

Myofunctional Evaluation

This includes a thorough history taking and full assessment of the structures and function of the lips, teeth, tongue and jaws to ensure that orofacial growth and development are optimal. Identification of any dysfunction will be explained and an individualised care plan tailored to your needs will be presented. The care plan will be emailed to you after the visit.

60 min $145

*For myofunctional evaluations, children must have undergone a dental evaluation with Developmental Dental or another dentist within the last 6 months. Additionally, the child must be 4 years or older to be eligible for this assessment.

Myofunctional Therapy 1

This includes introduction to and explanation of the first set of exercises that your child will be asked to practice. This visit may include baseline measurements and photographs. If your child is not yet ready for the therapy then this session is an education session for the parent on how to implement some myofunctional awareness and games into daily life to prepare your child for myofunctional therapy once they are ready.

Kids will be kids!! Playing, learning, laughing and sports are all integral parts of childhood.
Having worked in the paediatric dentistry space for so long I've seen my fair share of
dental related bumps, cuts, lumps and trauma.

What to do when an accident occurs -

1. Stay calm! ALWAYS try to remain calm. Your child will feed off your anxiety and
stress so if you act like everything is okay then they will presume it is.

2. Give me a call on 0419 232 508 and we can talk through your options:

Option 1
Teledentistry consult - this can include photos, videos etc. This service includes
follow up calls if required. $75

Option 2
In person assessment- I will come to your home for an assessment at my earliest
convenience. $95 - $165 depending on day/time.

Option 3
Triage for referral to PCH dental emergency department. No fee.

3. If the tooth has been knocked out of the mouth completely DO NOT try to put it back in.
DO NOT wash it or rinse it. Just place it in a cup of milk or the person's own saliva (handling it by the crown
- the part which would be visible if it were still in the mouth) and keep it safe until you have
spoken with me and I can determine whether it is a baby tooth or an adult tooth. If
you are certain it is an adult tooth, please go straight to the emergency department and
try to seek care within one hour.

Lastly, please remember that the mouth heals very fast. In my experience, alot of dental
injuries appear worse on first glance than they actually are. Keep your child comfortable
and calm and seek help as soon as possible.
